WORKSHOPS

1. Songwriting Workshop by Martin Tang
Winner of 3 Golden Melody Awards (Taiwan)

Dates – 23 May to 20 Jun 2011 (every Mon for 5 weeks)
Register by 13 May 2011
Time – 4pm to 6pm
Fee – $360 (50% discount for fulltime students)

Pre-requisites:
- able to write chord charts or leadsheets
- have some experience in writing songs
- send in a demo and chord chart/leadsheet of at least 1 self-written song (for critique during the workshop)

Martin Tang, winner of 3 Golden Melody Awards for Best Arrangement, will share valuable songwriting tips and techniques gathered from his vast experience as a renowned musician/arranger/producer. Topics will include melody, lyrics, rhythm & styles, harmony, and arrangements.

2. Band Workshop by Moses Tan
Experienced trainer of local and international bands

Dates – 31 May to 21 Jun 2011 (every Tue for 4 weeks)
Register by 13 May 2011
Time – 4pm to 6pm
Fee – $300 (50% discount for fulltime students)

Pre-requisites:
- able to read chord charts or leadsheets
- existing bands to attend together
- send in a video recording of the band playing together

Moses Tan, graduate of Dick Grove School of Music, LA and experienced trainer of many local and international bands, will work with each participating band on a repertoire of songs. Topics will include group dynamics, arrangements, styles & interpretation, and playing in a recording session.

3. Vocal Workshop by Babes Conde
Vocal coach for Singapore Idol 1 & 2 finalists

Date – 6 Sep to 4 Oct 2011 (every Tue for 5 weeks)
Register by 26 Aug 2011
Time – 4pm to 6pm
Fee – $300 (50% discount for fulltime students)

Babes Conde, vocal coach for Singapore Idol seasons 1 & 2 finalists, will work through the techniques and expression needed for a range of repertoire. Topics will include vocal technique, projection, styles & interpretation, use of the microphone, and building a repertoire.
