This is a music competition open to all students attending educational institutions* in Singapore
within the following age groups**:
Secondary - 12 to 17 years old
Post-Secondary - 17 to 20 years old
All participants will be entitled to a 50% discount at the
Destiny Music Festival 2009
workshops to be held from 7-10 Sep 2009.
*For group entries, members can come from different schools/insitutions.
**If members of a group are in different age groups, the entry will be placed under Post-Secondary.
Best Original Song (English/Chinese)
Eligibility:
Students of any educational insitution in Singapore aged
12 to 17 years old (Secondary) or
17 to 20 years old (Post-Secondary)
Shortlisted entries will be sent for judging by an independent panel of judges
comprising renowned Christian musicians/songwriters. At the same time, shortlisted
entries will also be featured on this website where public voting will take place.
The winning entries will be featured at DESTINY MUSIC FESTIVAL 2010.
Submission Guidelines
Duration to be 3 to 5 mins long
Melody must be original and must not be previously published
Lyrics may be adapted from Bible verses (indication is to be made of the source, eg Ps 23:1-4)
Lyrics to express a Christian viewpoint (on one hand without necessarily including any direct
reference to the names or titles of God, on the other hand it should not merely remain at the
level of a love song to a human despite/even with the use of hyperboles)

Format For Submission
You must submit the following by 31 Sep 2009. Incomplete or late submissions will be
disqualified:
1. Lead sheet comprising melody (either staff or numeral notation), chords and lyrics.

2. Audio recording of song sung with instrumental accompaniment (either guitar
or piano/electronic keyboard) on audio CD or as audio file on CD-ROM in any of these

3. Endorsement form duly signed by your school's teacher-in-charge or your church's pastor.

Lyrics can be in English or Chinese
For the auditions, vocalists are to provide their own accompaniment (either live guitar/keyboard or minus one track on audio CD)

keyboard and standard drum set which will be provided)
